MEET OUR BOARD MEMBERS
Robert Monzon
President
Robert Monzon serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Montebello Housing Development Corporation. He is one of the founding members of the corporation. Mr. Monzon is employed by the City of Pasadena as a Records and Information Manager he is a Certified Document Imaging Architect. Has served as President of the Pasadena Management Association, the Pasadena Latino Employee Association and currently serves as California State Affiliate Representative of UnidosUS a National Latino Civil Rights Organization. He is a member in good standing of the Montebello Rotary Club, Treasurer of the Pasadena Altadena Coalition of Transformative Leaders, and President of the Bella Monte Homes LLC.
Pat Renteria
Chief Financial Officer
Pat Renteria joined the Board of Directors on July of 2012. She is a long time Montebello Resident and Regional Director of the YMCA Los Angeles Metro Office. She has experience in organizational management, operational controls, and financial analysis. She currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Ms. Renteria has carefully guided the agencies financial outlook. During her time on the MHDC Board of Directors the agency has overhauled its collections program for silent second deferred loans program, maintained a balance budget, and expanded the agencies programs and services in a fiscally responsible manner.
Jaime Lagaspi
Vice President
Mr. Legaspi has many years of experience in the Affordable Housing area. He is a credentialed instructor at NeighborWorks the premier entity for training affordable housing program participants and agencies. He is a Broker Lender in the San Bernardino and Los Angeles County area.
Having participated previously on the Board of Directors he has returned to assist with the development of our Acquisition and Rehab programs and future development of housing. Mr. Legaspi’s experience as a non profit consultant and industry leader has been beneficial to the agencies recent expansion into new programs and services.
Joe Sandoval
Board Secretary
Dr. Joseph A. Sandoval is an EOPS Counselor/Professor at East Los Angeles College. He is the grandson of a Mexican Citrus Farmworker and son of a World War II and Korean Conflict U.S. Army Veteran. He completed his doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Social Justice at California State University, Los Angeles in 2018. He is a family man and father of 5 Daughters. His passion is serving first-generation, low-income, Latino students to pursue higher education opportunities and empower Latino community and families.
Alejandra Gutierrez
Board Member
Alejandra Gutierrez is a First Time Home Buyer Client of MHDC and purchased her first home in 2011 using the State Calhome Program.
She represents client interests on the Board of Directors and is very active in homebuyer education programs and services. Since joining the MHDC Board of Directors Alejandra has been very active by participating in NCLR activities including attending various NCLR conferences.
Alejandra Gutierrez is a First Time Home Buyer Client of MHDC and purchased her first home in 2011 using the State Calhome Program.
